The Golden Hour

The Holiday BarnStormer!

December GH

The Holiday Barnstormer -
Not Just Another Night of Spoken Word!

Over the past year The Golden Hour has earned a reputation as the
best places to find brilliant new writers, amazing live music, and all
manner of video rubbish all inside a beautiful space.

December 19th we have:

Robert Alan Jamieson: reading from his new book published by Luath
Press. With Slides.

Ben Lancaster: Canadian Based, Swiftian-Minded satire live via
Satellite. An early Christmas present for those who love a tart wit.

Jason Morton: Holiday flashes of fiction. Like a tree caught on fire.

The Forest Choir: A bit o' the jingle jangle. Bring your bells and
get ready to belt out your favourites in a sing-a-long.

Kevin Molloy: writes songs: some of them humorous, others thoughtful,
generally winsome. And wine-fueled. Plays lots of acoustic nights in
London and was a hit at the Edinburgh Fringe.

+

The Meth Minute: 60 second cartoons that are, literally, laugh out
loud funny. Are you ready for a talking ram?

+

Diddly Squat: 5 piece reggae band playing and sweating the night
away.

Patti Plinko and her Boy

a very special night: November 29. 8pm

patti plinko

"LIKE A MAD FUCKING DORIS DAY MEETS PJ HARVEY" - Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls)
Following a very successful week at the Edinburgh Fringe where she was spotted in the Spiegel Garden by Amanda Palmer (of the Dresden Dolls) and invited to perform solo and in a duet with her at her variety night at 99 Hanover Street, Patti Plinko has just completed a UK tour with the Puppini Sisters, playing to her largest audience to date at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Patti and her Boy were received with great interest, touching hearts and girdles all over the country, multiplying their ever-growing fan base every night.

Patti Plinko is described as a seductive, heady mix of Billie Holiday and George Formby trapped inside a tincan while Kate Bush runs off in search of a can opener. Singing songs of girls in their wonderland and boys and their Wah! Wah!, prepare to be enchanted by the beautiful Patti Plinko; a voice like an angel, a heart like a whore. It's eccentric alt rag and swing consisting of ukuleles, silk stockings and blood red shoes. Greatly influenced by old European cinema, British music hall and the satirical unserworld of Berlin Cabaret. Patti will take the audience into a dark seductive world of yester year. Flickering illusions accompany the rag and tin tunes that Patti whispers and woos into hand made tincan grama mics.

a real Do Not Miss Event!
