Re: Proposal for the front room

That's great! I won't be able to make it this Saturday, however, as I'll be out of town. But, I wouldn't like to stop the flow so go ahead! I can help with painting and prettyfying after the weekend. Does the theme of black gloss, red, gold and aged wood still bring everyone's agreement? Stay free. ...

Sick. No beef Big Man, I'm just probing.

I'll be proposing a change to 5-7pm at our next meeting anyways, because it may make more sense like that.

Stay free.

Re: Old Hat Books reading parties

This may be true. But I am a humble "commoner" who has never been to Golden Hour and doesn't know the intricate workings of certain communities or, if we're not shy, cliques, based around the Forest. I could be compared to the average person walking through the door. As a result, I was not aware tha...

Re: Old Hat Books reading parties

It seems to me that a solution could be met with the following considerations: 1. Changing the time of the readings to coincide with the foyer outside Sip and Snip being open (i.e. running from 5-7pm) which would remove unnecessary attention to the foyer outside of working hours. Old Hat Books may b...

Old Hat Books reading parties

Hello all, As a follow up to our Old Hat Books meeting of yesterday, we were wondering if it would be possible, from 6-8pm on the Wednesdays of our reading parties (which are planned for approximately monthly events, except in September) if we could place an aesthetically pleasing sign in the cafe d...

I think a forest theme...due to The Forest name...would be super cool. But, yes, I think maintaining a good social activism, community, welcoming theme is really important...and I think some carefully chosen words.

Re: A new meeting!

I don't think some things not changing is anything to be scared of. Some things are nice, and stay nice for a really long time. People like them and become attached to them. It can be frustrating when one is enjoying something really nice and then it is turned all grey and two days later is replaced...

I reckon we need a gas burner at the site when we are doing it...any possibility in using one of the ones we had at climate camp? Also, we had one at Knoch which had two rings and was portable and fuelled off a fairly transportable gas cylinder. Shall I look into this? Where is everyone, by the way?...
