Dear Forest,
Plans to follow in time, but for now, put Saturday 28th October in your diary for Forest - for some sort of AGM and collective review, done our way - with art, music and a party. You'll need your best ideas, your best hat and your dancing shoes.

Also, a wee correction for the next one: on the 'How the Forest is run' page, it says "there are 3 working groups" and then lists four.

Hiya, here is a possible two page addition to the cute little volunteer guides... --- Bit of history The Forest started in 2000 in Westport (just off the Grassmarket). We have tried out having Craftivism open meetings in Forest cafe and it has been great, so we're going to make it a regular fortnightly thing, starting Thursday 19th February 6:30pm. I'm not sure whether to call them workshops or meetings, but whatever they are, they are happening... We have materia...

Re: Craftivism and Edinburgh World Justice Festival
I contacted Sarah Corbett at Craftivist Collective when I was thinking about it (it was her interview on Culture Laser that made me think of doing the event and it would have been great to have her), but her fee for a talk is a lot of money for us, so we decided we would have to go ahead without.

Rachel's (quite amazing) poet friend hosts a slam in Glasgow which twice has only invited female performers but not mentioned anything on the billing. I like this idea a lot for loads of reasons, main one being it says 'this is not a big deal' about a gender situation people won't come across often...

Good to have your nose Shannon. I agree with you - carving out more room is exactly what Forest should be for. It's rare to have a female-only bill, and totally commonplace to have a male-only one or for the balance to be way out. It's worth thinking carefully how to define a female-only event so it...
