That suggests it hasn't actually found it then. Looking around, it sounds like Sweex cards use the ISL3886 chip for which it seems there isn't actually a finished Linux driver. There is a hack to use the Windows driver in Linux, but it's a bit fiddly to set up: http://patrick.vande-walle.eu/software...

If it's found the card you don't need to get any drivers - Ubuntu's got its own.

The Image Fulgurator

This guy runs an optical slave flash through an SLR backwards, to project images into other people's photographs at exactly the moment they take them:

I'd like to come to this too. I quite often get asked to help out with the stuff since people know I do techy stuff, and then I wind up tracing cables and figuring something out on the spot. It would be good to know how everything's actually supposed to work.

I don't think it's ever going to be possible to run Premiere acceptably under Linux. It will load in a virtual machine (VMWare) but I expect video performance would be poor because it's not going to be accessing the video card directly. Give Cinelerra a try - read the tutorials etc as it might work ...

Camera missing after photography workshop - FOUND now!

Has anyone seen my camera? I lent it for use in the photography workshop Meghan ran last month. Meghan thought Xabina had it but that was actually a different one. Mine is a Minolta X-700 that once looked like this picture, but it's missing the front panel that says MINOLTA, so you can see some wire...

Warning - our printer has a watermark

This watermarking system was developed to help trace counterfeiters, but the encoding has now become public knowledge, which means that ...
