this is getting frickin ridiculous, why are bands stealing our shit...aaaaaaargh. I think we should log what people are bringing in with them and what they are taking out. if they leave with more than they came with then we shoot them. Then they might learn :D . this pisses me off. All drummers are obvioulsy evil thieving scum merchants

About three weeks ago? The kit is barely older than that! We need to do something about this. Or, bands are going to have to start bringing their own kits. Argh!!

its difficult to work out what to do.
On one hand--every music venue should have its own drumkit for musicians to use, as its such a hassle to bring a drumkit, and not having one may put bands off from playing.
On the other hand they keep stealing our shit!

Maybe we can lock up all the drums (not the bass drum) and only get them out when bands are booked. Then we'd know what has been used and by whom. Then again its another added hassle and responsibility for the vollies. Its such a shame that people can't be trusted- we need to take a really harsh stance on this. Have we got contact numbers for the bands playing around the time these things were taken.
If you private message me with the numbers and the list of kit missing I can call them up and ask them if they know anything----don't worry I'll do it politely.

I don't know what else to do about this, I can't believe this shit is happening.

this is the first thing that has gone missing in ages.

yes. if we have SE / Event managers on than it would be better but can we reliably provide such a resource?

probably not.

we can chain things down and, thus, be less flexible....

chaining down would be good, but is a pian when the kit has to move and the chains will rattle!
maybe i'm overreacting but drum stuff is pretty expensive and a pain to buy the matching individual drums for the particular drumkits.

All drummers should bring their own snare (a lot do anyway) I say.
We should encourage everyone to bring their own cymbols too. If people need to borrow cymbols then we know who we are giving them out to in advance.
No lending of sticks- they run away faster than Mushareff at a democracy rally.

Also, we could make a warning poster- maybe a "this equipment has been electronically tagged due to theft...if the police trace the equipment to you, you will be shot on sight...twice...maybe thrice"

I'm in favor of chaining. But are there times when the kit needs to be moved? Or not really?

The alternative is to have it on a platform which can be raised towards the ceiling when not in use.

I agree that we need a kit, but let's not replace the snare, at least for awhile, and let it be known what happened and why people are being inconvenienced. We just spent loads of money on a kit. Nix thinks he can procure one for very cheap that needs reskinning.
