Scaffolding

Post by Mister C » Thu Jul 11, 2013 2:00 pm

As you may know we now have the services of a fantastic lighting technician, Brian.

He's had a look at what we have at Argyle House and has recommended that we need some scaffolding to set up a rig to mount the lights on.

In order to save on the pennies, does anyone have scaffolding/know where we can get it cheap, have contacts. We are trying to get lighting set up for the next Big Night Out, 20th July, so please get back to us soon

Yo! Specifically what we need for Old St.Paul's is two 3.5mm sections and one 4.5m section of 48mm aluminium scaff barrel; or smaller lengths and appropriate joiners to make them into those lengths. Quite frankly though any old length would be useful, and we also need scaff for the studio/rehearsal space we're looking to set up in the forest centre.

Hey folks

Brian has got a quote for £180 for the scaffolding.

So here's the options

1. Do we have the old scaffold hanging around somewhere, is it in Granton? Can we get it
2. Brian can improvise, but it's not the best
3. Bite the bullet and purchase the scaffold. We are going to need to use the rig for future events at OSP, the basement etc, so it will be kit that's going to be used.

Any thoughts/suggestions.

We need to make a decision on this ASAP, we're pretty lucky to have Brian's expertise, however he's a pretty busy guy, so lets make use of the time he's kindly offered and get this lighting sorted

Yo

I have a bag of connectors, you are welcome to come and get them from my studio. They do weight a ton.

Ok

Got a quote of £54 + vat for the 2x 3.5 and 1x4.5 m sections from Deborah services in Granton.

Suggest we go with that.

Guess next step is aranginging for payment and collection. Would you be ok for sorting that out Martin/Brian

Yo

Again am not sure where you are going to get the money from, if forest center plus has a surplice then take it from the charity. Stephen should know if this is the case. Please dont take money from the cafe.

you could take this from the events budget if you wish
