Driving Home For Christmas

Is anyone intent on heading south for christmas?
I'm aiming to get back to South Wales, but with the lack of daylight hours, the best of hitches would have to be broken into two days.
It would be nice to share a partway lift, break the journey's back and kill it on the second day.
Anyone care for some company and some petrol money, let me know
