Tips for using the board:
The newest threads in each forum can be found at the top of the list.
When you've had a look around, log out. (You should always log out when you're done using the board.)
The next time you log in, if anything new has been posted since your last visit, there will be a yellow icon next to it. (Anything which remains unchanged will have a white icon.) Now you can go straight to the posts which are fresh and newsworthy!
If you want to see all the threads which have had new stuff added since your last visit, just click on the link that says "View unread posts". You'll find it on the main index page, top right. If there are no new posts to view, it will say "You have no unread posts".
Simple!

Question: is it possible to set things up so you get the yellow unread icon on any thread you haven't clicked on, rather than anything new since the last time you logged in? I've been away from the computer for five days. I have been reading threads for an hour and a half. There are still many more. I am afraid I will never find them again. Oh dear.
Ok, complications overcome. The board will now remember your unread posts regardless of you logging in and out.
You also have the option, when you are reading a post, to mark it as unread. This has the effect of flagging it for later attention as it will appear in your list of unread posts (until you view it again, when it will revert to being unflagged). To mark a post unread, just click the little yellow icon next to the 'quote' button (top right corner of the post).
There is also a link on the unread posts page to mark all forums read. This is near the top right of the page.
