‘What happens when the memes no longer rise from the bottom, but ooze down from the top – from ad agencies and PR firms and commercial mass media? The whole mindscape is plunged into chaos. The locus of cultural power is dislocated, authenticity and spontanaetity lost. The free meme mating dance is replaced by a culture manufacturing machine. Ideas spread not when people interact, but when they switch on their TVs or computers or when they read wire-service news stories in the paper. The result is a different kind of mating ritual for the meme: one way, non-consensual, silent and in a profound way violent.

Let’s just come right out and say it mixing communication and commercialization was a fundamental mistake…our ultimate undoing, psychologically, socially and ecologically. The job we have ahead of us is to draw a clear line between commercial and human _expression, to recreate our communication system – to restore the mental environment’ – Kalle Lasn.

RIGHT THE FUCK ON!

It occurs to me I might have been clearer in my exlanation of the above night.
It's a DJ night.
Anyone can show up and play there tunes.
Likely time - 20-30 mins.
That's it and it's great.
Any concerns email me boliviadarling@hotmail.com

'Actually listen to this. Do you know who the first DJ was? He was the
highest paid official in the court of Henry VIII, and his job was to
assess the King's mood and then to choose what wood to put on the fire. So if Henry was fucking pissed off and was about to have another of his wive's head chopped off, he'd lay on some pine, say, to bring him down a bit, to chill him out. But then if Henry was getting drunk and rowdy, he'd choose the oak to mellow him out. He'd order in stock, trying to guess how things would go in the weeks ahead - I'll have some beech and a double-load of oak, oh and an extra bit of pine just in case. So he was like the first DJ man,the original selector'

Lookee here
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Great Scottish Santa Run

One of the favourite Christmas events in Edinburgh is the Great Scottish Santa Run, the city's attempt to break the record of the largest gathering of Santas running for charity.

Each contestant in the Santa Run receive a complete Santa suit in which they must participate while kids taking part in Santa's Little Helpers Run receive a Christmas Hat to wear during the race. Everyone receives a medal at the finish while children get presents. The Great Scottish Santa Run takes place in a 1.5 miles circuit of West Princes Street Gardens on Sunday 11th December at 11am.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it just me or is this just an ace opportunity for a criminal mastermind.
1) Don generic Santa outfit
2) Choose your scale - petty shoplifting... bank robbery
3) Execute operation
4) Make with the loot and watch as the cops go all cuntybooby as you infiltrate and assimilate into a crowd of a thousand lookee-likees.

Kinda redefines the whole Secret Santa thang huh?

Why Dorkbot Alba?
Alba is the gaelic name for Scotland. Alba is the genetically altered

You needn't explain a thing. It is true what they say of Welsh Dai the Podster; Behold, there he standeth, aureoled in the sylvan flame of Henry VIII's hallowed valet. Fuck yah.
