No Berlusconi Day - Petition and Fundraising

Post by pierone » Mon Apr 26, 2010 11:40 pm

Hi guys, I am writing on behalf of the No Berlusconi Group Scotland. We have been meeting over the last weeks at the Forest, to draft a petition to be eventually sent to n10 Downing Street. The petition asks the UK Government to draw the attention of the EU on the fact that the Berlusconi Government is issuing a series of laws which, apart from being appalling in themselves, openly breach binding EU agreements. The petition is almost ready, and we are meeting tomorrow (Tue 27th) at 6 pm to finalise it - join us if you'd like!
We would really like to organise a small event at the Forest, given it is the birthplace of the petition and you guys supported us a lot on the No Berlusconi Day on last December. The event would aim to promote the petition and get some signatures (we need 500 in total); we would also seek to raise some funds for a half-day roundtable which we are organising at the Edinburgh University on 25th June 2010, with the provisional title "The Berlusconi Government: A Government Outside Europe?" Would the Cafè be available on any date in the near future? We hope you'll help us saying No to Mister B, once more.

nice one.

Maybe it could work? But it will be a kaleidoscopic blend of mysterious shadows and rainbow hued-dreams seen through compassionate tears.

All sounds good except for the raising funds bit -- not sure that will really be possible with an event in the cafe??
