Ultrachip! - chiptune/ 8bit mini-festival. Edinburgh. Sat 21

Post by chris » Wed Apr 28, 2010 11:06 am

PLEASE CIRCULATE THIS!

Call for circuit benders, VJs, chip art and chip related workshops.

Ultrachip will be Scotlands first chiptune mini-festival, showcasing chip acts from Scotland, alongside national and international artists. Performances will take place on the Saturday and Sunday evenings. During Sunday there will be a series of workshops/discussions/demos/market/and art relating to chip/circuit bending and vjing. This is likely to be fairly informal (but awesome).

Ultrachip will take place in Edinburgh, at "the forest" (www.theforest.org.uk), which is a diy, not-for-profit volunteer run arts space (the building is an old church). This will form part of forests 10th birthday celebrations.

The Saturday and Sunday evenings will see performances till 3am, current schedule:

SATURDAY 21st AUGUST:
---------------------
Calmdownkidder (http://calmdownkidder.com/records/) tour feat:
David Sugar (tbc) - http://www.myspace.com/davidsugar

Edward Shallow - www.myspace.com/edwardshallow
Enfant Bastard - www.myspace.com/cammyjjnr
Ancatmax - www.myspace.com/anticlimaxchip
Bit Face - www.myspace.com/bitface

We are seeking:

VJs to perform alongside chiptune musicians.
VJs to run interesting small workshops/skillshare.
Circuit benders to run small workshops/skillshare/demonstrations.
Chip market participants buy/sell/swap chip stuff (zero commision)
Seminar, discussion proposals.
Chip art.
circuit bender/ chip performers (limited slots remain)
Other chip related things, please suggest!

We are now open for submissions for participation along these lines. We will be scheduling this organically, and have left a limited number of performance slots free. It is possible that workshops could extend into the following week, if there is sufficient demand.

Please note this is a FREE DIY minifestival, and we do not have an expense budget, or money, and cannot pay any fees.. it is all for love of chip and music!

Please send proposals to ultrachipfestival[at]gmail.com, by the 1st June. Please note, participation places are limited, and the schedule will be determined in June.

PLEASE CIRCULATE THIS!

dream-like!

think another compilation cd in the series would be good for this - DIY maybe, 50 to 100 copies. give away or very cheap or give away with the X comp.

will help if you think it is good.

Hey, got this email on the Events account. Don't know if anyone already talked to the guy but it might be worth looking into. (Subject was: 'Ultrachip! - chiptune/ 8bit mini-festival. Edinburgh. Sat 21' so I'm sure this is what he was refering to).

Hi,

I am interested to do visuals during the mini-festival.

Check my website for previous projects:
