Great environmental project in North Scotland

Post by IVS » Wed Mar 01, 2006 11:17 am

18th March – 1st April

Earth Tribes, Ullapool
8 volunteers needed

The project is based on Leckmelm Farm, south of Ullapool, in a particularly beautiful part of North West Scotland.

Volunteers will help with a beach clean from Corry to Creag Ioholaire on Loch Broom as part of the ‘Adopt-a-Beach’ scheme.

There will also be opportunities to learn dry stone walling and help with the restoration of a dry stone pier.

Other tasks: helping with organic livestock and vegetable weeding, clearing gorse and rhodedendron.

There is also a chance to get involved in local life - if you play music bring an instrument to play in the local ceilidh. There will be an international food night – so bring your own recipes!

Accommodation and food provided.
Call Louise on 0131 226 6722 or email scotland@ivs-gb.org.uk for details.
