Hi Forest people,
A few weeks ago we posted the idea to have an bikefundraiser...
Me and AnSof are still enthusiastic about organizing a trip, but we do need more companions

Re: Bike Raiser
yo
we did a fundraiser for RAWA (revolutionary association of women of afghanistan) and raised about £500 quite easily.
We cycled from The Forest to North Berwick (easy flat ride along cycle route near coast, about 25 miles), and we all got sponsored to make the cycle. It was really nice & we had a swim at the other end.
If you're going to do this, you can probably advertise at places like The Bike Station (I have 3 lovely friends there who might help: Jake, Will and Rhi, you will find one or all of them at the Bring your own bike sessions on wed night or saturday afternoon), The Bicycle Works (Marchmont Road) and other bike shops like The Bicycle Co-op might be up for helping.
I think I was sponsored about £100, and most people had about £20-50. Evan the champion raised about £200 by himself. We were just a small group, too.
This could be awesome, wish I could go with you! Don't forget to take your bike pumps & repair kits... and a picnic.

Re: Bike Raiser
yes!
It would be awesome if it could be a 2 day ride- one way there (camp out) mini party and one way back.
we could have someone meet us at the campsite with the necessary gear?
have camping, swimming, cookout, fire
and a return party @ forest afterwards.
could make the target be somewhere between 30-75 pounds? per person (with above that being extra awesome)
we could aim for Mid June?
that would be enough time to propperly sus things out, advertise and raise the dough.
xoxo

Re: Bike Raiser
Wooo Yehh !!!!!!
What we need for now is;
• A Sunny weekend in mid. June (dates)
• A destination and a route (can somebody help me with this, bikemap, ideas )
I’m working (with Harry and thanks to Sonia) on a sponsorship pack, so that people can get started to work out and find money
If you guys have time I would like to set up a meeting in the next week, if not please use the BB or informal ways to talk with me about it.
To Scout, many thanks for your infectieus enthousiasme ! Please stay tuned about this, your advise is always usefull. I’m quite shy, so do you have maybe any contact addresses of those guys, that I don’t have to talk with them in real live ?
Anyway the plan is to promote the Bike Ride in those pleases (like the bike station) as much as possible, when it set up better.
More ideas (monsterbikes, megabikes, poster, go-cards... )are welcome !!!

Ps. Next Friday Critical Mass
