hello and i have some questions

Post by ola2 » Fri Oct 05, 2007 12:06 am

hi
i will be building an installation from the 15th and on. i need some guidelines please. i'd like to know if the gallery will be empty as the previous show finishes on 14th. how early can i bring all my materials in, where can i find some basic tools, a hammer and a ladder? and since i will have many many branches and twigs, does anyone have any ideas what to do with them when the show's over (28th), a bonfire? oh and does anyone know where can i find cheap and nice half - transparent (carbon?) paper so big to cover the whole window? and wire, thin and flexible wire. and cheap as well..

I can supply lots of thin and flexible wire. I could put it in the cupboard in the gallery for you.

The wire is 1mm thick and 81 metres in length. That cool?

we cannot have a bonfire in the forest. we would be burnt. are the branches recently cut or well seasoned?it is possible that i can help you in my van. however i am poor. also i could maybe find a place for the branches to go if they are ok to burn.

if you have some other solutions that is best.

i don't know about carbon? aren't we carbon?

we are but i still need some half transparent paper.

the wire sounds brilliant. what colour is it though?

i didn't mean to make bonfire inside the gallery.
but maybe it would be nice to arrange something outside somewhere, i don't know any places, i don't know if it's legal in scotland.
some branches are freshly cut, some not. don't think they're well seasoned as they've been lying in botanic garden's garbage yard. they're rather thin.
bill, unfortunately i am poor as well. but i would pay you of course, maybe from the budget thing?

i left some flyers in the gallery today.

does anyone know if it would be possible to bring the branches for the installation on sunday afternoon? does anyone have an email or mobile number of anyone from the potlatch collective?
