foh mural wall a quick hang

Post by martinmckenna » Fri Oct 05, 2007 5:41 pm

at the fwg meeting it was discussed that in the mean time we should hang something on it ,

one of the ideas was to put some CIA night stuff up , which would be nice , i was thinking we could print out the CIA pdfs which are on the web site on A4 and stick up as many as we can in a gird like fashion , this would be a cheap solution , and for the blender we can work on something else with A0 posters
which could be a in its self part of blender

i like it. there may be some old cia images up above the gallery in color if anyone has time to look. we used to have an amazing superman and tom cruise but both disappeared. would be great to re-do them, however, if anyone had the time and inclanation.

not sure what is on the web but i know the blue computer will hold color pdfs of all the brilliant covers and that, in itself, could be a nice mini exhibition.

i measured the space up and drew up a diagram, hopefully it will be useful in future, the measurements were quite rough.

the relevant area is 23505 square inches
164.5 square feet

in approximate terms that's 250 sheets of a4. or one half ream, if you will.

if we were to do the left side alone that would be approx 130 sheets a4.

gah, that was too much maths.

lets scale up the diagram to 1:1 so that the map precedes the territory.

i had a look above the gallery, but alas there wasn't any cia nights stuff that i could see. superman was there, amongst lots of rolled up drawings with no signs of propriety, some random bits and a bottle of champagne.

ah you found me champagne.

we should drink that soon. there is definately some CIA stuff up there at the back. i personally think we should print some new huge mural think up there. with the a4 skills and wallpaper paste.

if we cut out squares of coloured paper we could create a kind of pixellated effect

like an 8-bit platform game

ok people

we have coloured paper , pixels and cia nights , also over on the blender thread there is an idea about putting the blender program onto the wall which maybe be cool ! every one can just point to wall to find out whats on

now coloured paper there is a4 muilty packs over at staples

http://www.staples.co.uk/eng/Catalog/ca ... ured+Paper

i think the colors aint too good , but only 2.99 ! any other ideas ?

With the help of gaz ive found the cia night stuff on the blue comp , tons of stuff , c:/documents/cia

i guess we dont want anything too permanent , my idea to merge the colour paper with the program and make the crap colors sing , is make them look like post it notes , big post it notes , write on them wiht a big sharpie pen , i guess it would be easy to change and revise , any way just an idea

but we do need sort this out by thursday

we all generally agreed that a big Blender programme on the mural would be good at the blender meeting yesterday, however not the whole mural space as that would be kinda ridiculous (but possibly ridiculously cool?!?!?!). however we don't have a definate definate definate timetable yet and probably wont have until Wednesday or Thursday (or next monday!..thanks Silk (more like polyester!) ). I suggest you speak to RyanAir about it, he may know more or might have decided what he wants to do about it. But be warned, Silk infuriated him, and now the word "blender" makes him angry, so he may punch you in the face...i suggest asking him from a good distance. :D
