here is the info for artists

Info For Artists

The Space
-The gallery space is yours for the duration of the exhibition, do what you want with it (within reason).

-The Forest is open 10.30am to 12 midnight each day.

-Please introduce yourself to the kitchen manager they can help with immediate queries but please bear in mind they are busy managing the place, making the money that funds TotalKunst.

-You will be entitled to a free meal for each full day spent working in the gallery.

-There are tools and materials available for your use in the gallery cupboards, please take what you need and leave what you can. Please check to see what tools and materials are available if you have any specialist requirements.

-Invigilating the space is your responsibility and all work is displayed in the gallery at the owners' own risk.

-Please leave the gallery as you find it - all holes filled and all walls repainted, where necessary. The window seat should be painted with white gloss and the walls with water-based white matte emulsion. If paint is running low, LET US KNOW!

-We prefer to hold closing parties rather than opening parties, please let us know when you plan to hold this and we will promote it for you.

Budget
-The budget for your exhibition is £50 for expenses relating directly to the show, please keep your receipts and redeem them with a member of the Visual Arts Working Group via the Totak Kunst email or the point of contact you have been in communication with.

Promotion
-Please send us an image and a paragraph of text about your exhibition at least a month in advance of your show, We will post these to the forest website and send out a press release to our mailing list.

-We will not provide flyers but should you want to produce them through the expenditure of the exhibition budget, we have cheap printing facilities available for your use.

-Please send us some sort of photographic documentation of you exhibition! We like to have this information for our online archives.

submission text

Total Kunst are currently accepting submissions in any medium, including performance and/or time-based works to consider for their ongoing programme of exhibitions in a centrally located, volunteer run Edinburgh gallery.

We welcome well-thought out submissions from artists at any stage of their career who are based locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. However, you should bear in mind that although we may be able to cover exhibition costs (up to a total of £50), accommodation, invigilation (if required) and transport of work and/or yourself are YOUR responsibility.

We are particularly interested in receiving proposals which either make creative use of these limitations or engage with the specific qualities of the gallery and the Forest Café in which the gallery is housed. For further information please see our submission guidelines:

http://www.theforest.org.uk/submissions/submissions/

Please send your submissions to:

totalkunstsubmissions@yahoo.co.uk

The deadline is ongoing, though we do meet to consider submissions on the last Thursday of every month. (Please do NOT send submissions to our Art Review page or by personal message as we won't read them!)

because that document is a pdf file it is difficult to edit straight off- it is probably best to combine the raw text that martin posted seperately above and the image of the floorplan also above to make a new version, minus the budget bits...

hope that is some help, if no, i can have a go at some point.
