surprise surprise i'm finding things online to distract me from writing dissertations...

these are interesting:

http://www.bookblog.net/gender/genie.html

copy and paste things you've written in and it will evaluate whether you are male or female. apparentely males use more noun modifiers, females use more pronouns. women use more 'relationship' words, give more compliments and apologise more. obviously everything i put in says i'm a man.

read more about it here:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/Co ... 65,00.html

also:

http://www.wordcounter.com/

which will rank all words in frequency and you can see if you're always using the word infer (must theasaurus them out)
