Library - Quality control

Postby Gaz » Sat May 26, 2007 9:59 pm

Volunteer Chris and myself did a big sort-through of the library this week.

There was a bit of dross in there which has now been gotten rid off.
It looks like people had been swapping shitty books they had found in the free shop and swapped for something half decent from the library.

I think from now on people should only be able to swap books of at least the same quality - can kitchen people use all their judgment, prejudice and snobbery to full effect before they hand over the sticker to ensure that the library stays crap-free. (by this i mean jilly cooper, throwaway tarzan books from the 50s, and mid-90s computer manuals - just say no!)

space is at a premium and we're getting a good turnover of books, some very good ones, so i think it's going well - just gotta make sure we don't let people swap willy-nilly. i might make a li'l sign...

(another shelf would still be good - maybe someone could build one that could accommodate the oversize books...)
