Mexican fridge goes boom

Postby Shannon » Wed Nov 29, 2006 11:49 am

I came in this morning and the ice in the Mexican fridge was melting. There is power from the socket, so it isn't a fuse. Anyone more fixy-fixy than me want to take a look? Otherwise, we're down to one fridge for storing food stuff in the kitchen...

double check it's pluged in. sometimes it gets pulled out.

ALSO, i think fridges can go into auto-defrost sometimes and you just need to wait till it runs it's cycle.

double check all the settings and
don't give up yet.

it could still be a fuse, the plugs have their own fuses in them - it is unlikely, but this could have gone.

Maybe it could work? But it will be a kaleidoscopic blend of mysterious shadows and rainbow hued-dreams seen through compassionate tears.

Looks like auto-defrost was the problem. By last night, it seemed to be fine. Laura: would be good if you could defrost it on Sunday as there's still a huge block of ice that could cause more problems...

Just don't try to hack the ice off with a knife!!!! This one will take ages to defrost. You can sometimes use hot water to help speed things up. If you want to do any hacking, make sure you use something plasitc...

i think the quickest way is to turn it off, fill a burrito container with boiling water, put it in and close the door. change the water when it cools down.
