hosting large numbers for nosh

Postby James » Mon Sep 08, 2008 10:13 pm

50-80 members of an LGBT choir are coming through on December 5th .. can we host them in the cafe? Probably have to be the hall, right? And they want a buffet meal - could we do that? how much?

Has anyone thought anything about this? It would be a fun challenge, and maybe financially rewarding. But do we have enough plates and cutlery for 50 people? The rice cooker will do rice for about 15 people at a time. Falafel meals are easy to do in bulk. Burritos and nachos block the microwave and grill for too long. There must be things on the new menu that would be suitable.

If we produced a menu of food we can do in that quantity, and took the orders days in advance, it could be done.

a big buffet meal could be a great with all the new tapasy/dips things on the menu. We did a wedding meal ages ago in the cafe, it was fun. if we don't have enough plates we can use paper ones like we do catering at festivals.

The new menu should be able to cater for this without a problem. Let's do it, porbably goes without saying that a generous amount of help will be required.
