Calendar displays an event twice when it goes past midnight

Post by milk » Fri Aug 14, 2009 6:33 am

this looks bad and is very confusing.

gah, just spent the last 4 hours trying to fix this to no avail.

known issue;

tried the suggested hack (and various permutations) in the comments, no luck.

giving up for tonight.

An awful lot of calendar stuff - not just programs but also formats - is designed so that it can be synced properly onto a Palm, because if your calendar product didn't sync to a Palm then it used to be useless. And the only thing the Palm calendar ever got wrong was not being able to handle events running across different dates (i.e. over midnight). So events with post-midnight end times will often get split into two sections, one under each date.

still no joy on any kind of fix, waiting to hear if an older version of the module uses the same db schema so i can downgrade without any issues

(also, the links to change month are knacked, also waiting for support on that)

anyway, i've used Panels to make the event page a bit nicer

http://theforest.org.uk/events

i might do a mish mash of old event images right at the bottom for kicks at some point

That patch is pretty much the approach I would take. I'll see if I can get it to work at some point, but not a huge priority.
