Apologies: Blue had a terrible lurgy

There wasn't a great deal to discuss, given the number of people who turned up.

Blue has apparently found some paving slabs, so we are one step further to having the compost up and runny. We just need to get them from where they are to the Forest.

Now that we know where batteries can be recycled, a small collection box can be put somewhere. We buy candles and pear cider from Ikea, so the batteries can be dropped off there every so often.

The allotment application needs to stress the educational aspects. We don't want to grow food for selling in the cafe. But we do want to give volunteers the opportunity to learn about gardening and food production, and to reward their hard work with minature carrots.

Recycling bins: we won't go further with knocking down the door to the secret room for storing recycling yet. We will concentrate on making the recycling less of a chore at source (in the kitchen). With different bins for glass and packaging (plastic, cans, cardboard), it should require no sorting, which is one less unpleasant job to do. We could make room for an extra bin maybe by getting rid of the cabinet under the soup cauldrons.

Next meeting: we proposed Tuesday 16th January at 7pm.

Sorry these are a bit late - it was a nightmare BEFORE christmas and I managed to lose the bit of paper I took the notes on during the holidays.

Agree with Jane.

And well done for sorting out battery recycling. A triumph!
