Submission for the Free Press

Post by Jane » Sun Jul 08, 2007 11:46 am

Hey, these kids have got in contact with us about producing a poetry pamphlet (attached). They want to publish 100 copies of the booklet which is 30 pages, to sell at the festival, maybe do some readings.

I checked through the old minutes and we never quite made it clear what we want to do - we said 5 A4 sheets max but didn't specify a print run. Their booklet is probably going to be 7 A4 sheets, maybe 8 (A5//double sided).

100 copies is kind of a lot, I thought we could say to them a smaller figure and if they sell out we can think about printing more?

Also, do we take a % of the "profits"?

Also, would we want to let them do an event here in Festivaal, where they can read and sell them? It might be a nice thing to have of an afternoon.

that is all

they can have the profits and they can make 30 books as it is bigger than it ought to be.

they can take the profits from the book and pay for more copies as it suits them.

yes, we can donate space to them from an events perspective.

anyone disagree?

sounds good, what cost should they pay per copy after the first 30?
