Next Vollie Party July

Post by lucky » Wed Jul 18, 2007 4:07 pm

I've been a big hand in making the past couple of Vollie Parties happen. I've got a lot on my plate at the moment, can someone else make this great thing happen, please?

Ras has nabbed the night we had planned (27th). He does always do stuff the last Friday of the month, so it is fair enough.

Ryan thought it was madness to have a volunteer party so soon before the Festival. I can see his point, but as long as people don't over do the rum punch like last time, they will have recovered in time for the boiler suit hard rock ball.

But even if people are up for it, there is the slight problem that we are booked solid to the end of the month, and then to the end of next month.

It is Fils de Bee's and my birthday on the 27th though, so there might be something happening, even if it is just a card game and some alfresco brewskis.

Fuck it - the opening party is the ultimate vollie party. No days available otherwise.

Ras was asking to *combine* the drama night and the vollie party.

Easily done over two floors, methinks. Or,even if it's a daytime party, that would just break all the rules!

The Birthdays MUST be honored, who's taking the reign?

Anyone?

I'm sick of my voice echoing into the emptiness of this BB. *cry*

I'm away on Friday so I shall not be of much help. You'll have to check with the building crew that the hall is available Friday...

i think vollunteer parys should be combined, just pick a cool night where theyre asre already events on, and say that night is the vol party... that way its less werk, more p[eople and more un-un-goodness.
Maybe it could work? But it will be a kaleidoscopic blend of mysterious shadows and rainbow hued-dreams seen through compassionate tears.

Shall I try to get some of these blank masks and some paint (do we have any poster paint and brushes already), and we can start making masks for the night of 1001 themes tomorrow night? I can stick up some posters so that punters know that this is happening.

Yo - just saw this message. If you can do the masks today, that would be great. Otherwise, I was going to check it out tomorrow. We will need them in bulk, so we should hit a party shop. There are several (see peoples forum).

Excellent idea. I'm going to be around tonight, will lend an arty hand. Tell people about it, and try to get people to bring whatever stuff they may already have. I've got loads of little gay bits, shall bring.

Masks:

We have 33 masks just now. There are 2 kinds - 85p ones are smaller than the 75p ones (different shops). Both are a bit hot to wear for long periods of time. Both are white plastic. Shannon and I think the 75p ones are better.

Tomorrow night we will have a go at painting/decorating them upstairs with all the cool shit we will splash out on at Bits and Bobs.

I can get more (~200?) in time for the big opening. Is 75p each too much? I did ask in one shop about a bulk discount and they weren't very promising. I think margins are tight in the world of plastic novelty shite.

There are some simpler ones which are 2 quid for 20. This is the kind I was looking for in town, but couldn't find anywhere.

Yeah, get them but get enough of the other ones to work on tomorrow, if you still want to.

I have 33 full(er) face masks just now. This was all that Edinburgh had to offer. We can work on them tomorrow night.

I've ordered 10 packets of 20 masks from the source above.
