A Forest Closing?

Post by ravanwin » Wed Aug 15, 2007 2:31 pm

How about we decide NOW if we want to close for a week or so after the Festival to redecorate and renovate our space.

Maybe from the 29th or from the 2nd of september.

Things we could do.

clear out workshop and make it useable
clear out upstairs office and make it useable
clean out office storage space and make it useable

(we could pile all of our rubbish in the church hall like in the tv programs and then decide what we need to keep)

sand and varnish floors
repaint toilets (or even expand them) PROPERLY so that they appear cleaner and stay more sanitary looking.
Ditto on stairs down to the toilets.
Junk Furniture
Tidy Church Hall so it is ready to rock for the punters.
Get our posters etc sorted out
Tidy the PA... hold a workshop on how it works!
Go t hrough all the drawers in the office.

I guess there is loads of building / organazational stuff to sort out and maybe a week isn't long enough but it could be a really good thing to do. We usually close by default for a few days in sept. and so it would be nice t o plan it ahead of time and then try to get some work done.

What do we say?

I won't be around, but it sounds like a good idea.

Does that mean the Forest is staying in Bristo place building and not moving to pastures new?
It's like God's vagina!

We need a break too.

Yes I think it's a good idea.
I've had it with you. If I had an image of a laser gun I would absolutely position it right here in my hand...
Ha! I have a real laser absolutely positioned in my hand!

thinking about this: i reckon we'll all be burnt out by 1 sept so, maybe we could close for a day or two BUT if we want we can close in late dec. and give the place an overhall.

it seems that not many were into closing in sept. if i am wrong, say so now.

Sortage

Post by danny » Sat Sep 01, 2007 8:56 am

Tis my thirtieth today. I think I'd like to celebrate in Forest. It would be cool to get some serious sortage on the go though at some point soon.
