well, yes, it his kit.
here's the deal: we don't need it for stfu but we will need a drum kit the following week for the blender et al.
soooooooo: who wants to go buy a drum kit? bit of a shame really, but i guess it must be done.
or we can post on freecycle?

Yes it's definately worth getting a decent one. I don't think one drummer has ever been happy with the drumkits in the cafe's before. Now obviously they are drummers and therefor have caveman like brains but defintaely worth spending a bit of cash on a decent one. I know someone who can get brand new stuff cheaper (its not stolen, he works for a big music chain), I also know of a guy selling his old, absolutely amazing drumkit (it really is very good and in great condition) but can't remember how much he wants for it...possibly £500...what sort of money you want to spend? I'll speak to my drummer mates and find you the best one for that price.

my instinch says 5 - 600 is our price range. anything too expensive / flashy begs to be stolen, doesn't it!

Hey guys- right...my friend has sold his kit but he and my other drummer friend (both session drummers!) suggested i tried looking for some kits. they gave me the names and i have phoned round a number of places. The best deal by far, and apparently the kit is fantastic is from Drum Central (usefully they have one left we can pick up tomorow-deposit must be paid today to secure it) is the Mpaex VX series 6 piece (normal drumkits are 5 piece but wont take up more room so don't worry) Ltd Edition Black kit for £399, this is a fuckin bargain apperently! on top of that they have got cymbol kits for £69 totalling £468. I know this is expensive but the kit is solid and apperently sounds great. i can probably get some free shit thrown in if i go tomorow (stools, sticks etc).
it can be seen here:

Both my drummer friends say that we will not get a better kit for the price.

also, there is a list of things the guy who lent us the drumkit wants back / paid for. i can't remember the original terms of teh agreement. but i think we did say we'd do that.

I was going to go pick up the drumkit today- at about 4pm. It needs to be paid for in full, unless its been sold to someone else. Complete with cymbols it comes in at £468. I don't know what to do? shall i come to the Forest and get the money? does someone want to go pay for it this morning/early afternoon? Do you guys still want it? please let me know ASAP please

yeah remember its a 6 piece so if there is not enough room just leave one of the toms off and make it a 5 piece. There was a seat included in the package. All the cymbols are in a blue box, and there is a set of sticks which should be kept in the office/kitchen to stop thieves nicking them....most drummers bring their own sticks so shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Make sure you get someone who knows how to tune it before someone does it willy nilly, and it ends up sounding shite. Nick if you know what you're doing then nice one, if not then i suggest you ask Danny or another drummer to do it.
There may be a tag on the drums with details about a warantee. so double check the tags before throwing them out. Also check the receipt to see if it mentions a warantee. im not even sure whether you can get warentees on drumkits, seen as you have to hit them to make them work , normally hitting things voids the warantee!!
peace and fucking
