Exhibition Proposal

Post by helen » Thu Aug 23, 2007 7:41 pm

I have a proposal. Which is to tile the walls of the gallery with squares of cardboard which have photocopied drawings on. There is a scan of some of the drawings to follow...

Putting it up will probably take a few hours. I'd like to show it for a couple of days, maybe a weekend. If the end of september is free that would suit.

from i can see from my records (which may wrong) we are booked all sept , but there may spaces between shows , depending on when they Finish , the show on at the moment finishes on 14/9 and sweetshop starts on 15/9 then ends on the 30/9 then on to potlatch . i guess since you want a show at the end of sept , then its a space between sweetshop and potlatch you want ,if available ,

we could possible negotiate with then to see if its possible

Hello total kunst people,
I want to know if it would be possible to postpone this exhibition until the spring. At the moment I'm down for the 26th - 30th November. I took this on before starting an art course, and the work for that is taking up more time than I'd anticipated. I don't have enough spare time to put together something I feel is exhibition worthy.
If there isn't another proposal to fill the five day gap, what might be good is a show of some of the better pieces of work that people have been making in the cafe on Sundays. If there's enough good work from that.

We want to get a third artist involved, I'm talking to her now to see if we can sort it out in time.

In short -
- I want to do this: http://www.doubtlesshouse.org.uk/LostAndNotFoundYet/
- Emily wants to do actual found objects, postcards and so on collaged together
- Tiny would be interested in doing a wall of photographs of found gloves, all photographed the same way - she has about 800 I think. You can see one in her current exhibition at Atticsalt (which I would recommend btw)

Called something like "Found Things"

we are so hung.

ps. there is a burning desire within me to do massive wall repair and cleaning of the under cubbies in the gallery. could we do this after the tkxmaxx show?
i'm sorry I BLANK-ed on BLANK-DATE, I was a little drunk.

yup that is a very good idea, something various peoples have been meaning to do for a while- the walls good definitely do with an even coat of paint and the cupboards would be a good place to house various useful materials for exhibiting artists.
