Vandals

Post by ravanwin » Wed Nov 28, 2007 12:53 pm

All -

1) on sat - some shitty graffiti appeared between the time we left the action room and the time i returned at 9.30.

the socialists and the buy nothing people were all hanging out in the stair for a while so anyone doing something stupid should have been seen.

later that night i found kids hiding in the unlocked church hall. it could have been them.

who knows.

but we MUST be vigilant in terms of the hall. Go to the top of the stairs and check things out when you are in the building. We are understaffed and people know this so they take advantage, people have broken into the roof and other places and put up awful grafiti on the whole of the stair well. Surprisingly, this didn't happen when we were mad busy durring the festival.

2) the reason the dragon at the top of the stair is running is because some fucker sprayed it with our fire extinguisher. This should not be fucking happening. We MUST watch out for people who are being destructive. It is very sad and disheartening. I, for one, would vote for more cameras at this rate as well as the death penalty because i find human beings to be fully unworthy.

But maybe i am a cynic.

here are pictures of graffiti to raise your spirits. anyone with info on the culprits gets a burrito.

Such a shame.
Time to put cameras up me thinks.

If people are caught more than once, or they are graffing the walls, take pictures of them and ask for their names. Say that you will then be forwarding their names to the police as well as there pictures. You may wish to have other people with you when confronting people as some these neds can get a bit feisty with their fisticuffs!

Too harsh? unrealistic?

first stealing drumkits, then writing on the walls!...time to invest in a Forest shotgun?

Cameras will stop fuck all, but it will make us all feel a little more dead inside...

But yes, we need vigilance. And maybe a system? Like the McDonald's hourly toilet rota! We can initial the side of the list that no punks were in the hall at 7 or 8, but by 9 they had lit a fire and dropped their crack pipe. That'll make things better.

Does this stuff really offend us? It certainly doesn't offend me. How edgy is edgy anyway? Bear in mind these are the ramblings of a pished full-on mid-life crisis dude!
My arse, I'm among friends and I can say what I want. I love you all xxxxxx

cameras: we had lots of tk gallery problems, we put in cameras and have had no problems since.

is that true?
Maybe it could work? But it will be a kaleidoscopic blend of mysterious shadows and rainbow hued-dreams seen through compassionate tears.

from now on i think we should all only post whilst drunk...its the future.

Yeah i heard that as well (about the cameras in the gallery), it might be worth getting some ones with the red lights...so people know that they are there.

more vigilance i think.

cctv is a waste of time.

we have cameras in tk. it has sort of worked.

but cameras on stairs won't and i will feel like a shit.

Checking is worse because that way people are being watched whether they are fucking around or not. With cameras, you only get watched if you did something wrong.

People shouldn't be up there at all. It doesn't matter if they're fucking around - it isn't a public space.

It would be good if there were lights that could be switched on at locking-up time to illuminate all the dark corners to make it easier and safer to check for folk still in the building.
Or buy one of those 10,000,0000 candle power torches!
