We are insured as a "restaurant and takeaway".

The policy does cover us for:

"Stock in Trade belonging to You or held in trust or on commission by You or for which You are responsible whilst contained in the Premises"

"Exhibition cover increased to £5,000 any one exhibition not exceeding 7 days"

"Paintings, curios and other works of art included up to £5,000 any one item"

However, I can find nothing to suggest they would cover us for a shop run from the same building as our "restaurant & takeaway". If it were inside our restaurant & takeaway, that would conceivably be covered.

There must be a general contents section...
I filled in a long list of our contents when we did the policy.
the more you think, the more you stink

I think it's covered by this part:

"coverage up to the value of £100,000 is extended to all audio/visual Equipment either belonging to You or held in trust for the purposes of holding live performances, DJ sets, regular cinema nights, and wicked parties. Any such Equipment may be shared with community resource practice rooms located within the Building and also used for any events, parties, or other such uses as deemed appropriate by the Organisation, whether within outwith the Building"

Please tell me our insurance policy really does contain the phrase "wicked parties".

Will they refuse our claims if they judge our parties "not wicked enough"? brilliant.
