Day of the photography in the cafe: Sat April 12

Who's up for this?

We could have the cafe space all afternoon, and have photos to project (need a laptop) and put on the wall. We could have some B&W photos done as big banners cheaply and hang them from the roof, and then leave them up for a bit.

We could hang round for the day and try to get photos from people to show (we could do some posters beforehand), and talk about photography and cameras with anyone interested .. hopefully we would end the day with walls covered with photos.

Does anyone have a recommended place for getting prints of digital photos done? Or, if there is a special offer for bulk orders, do we want to pool our photos for cheaper printing?

A friend of mine recommends photobox.co.uk, haven't tried it myself.

I am still interested in this happening, but has anyone outside of the group responded to the idea? Or has it not been advertised (posters, bb, facebook, etc.) yet?

I'd like it to happen. I don't know if I could offer much advice to the public, but I could be around with my laptop to project stuff. Large photos to put up would be good. I'll use photobox for my digital stuff (good deals for 20+ enlargements, so join me). Can we have the A0 wall just for the day?

I could do some posters to advertise the event and ask for email submissions of photos.

There is a suggestion to use the projector less during the day while it is sunny, but I'm sure we could have a couple of hours after lunch.

I'm impressed with photobox.co.uk. They delivered 20 10x7" prints in less than 24 hours.
