I blew it on a new projector bulb. I still need to cash the cheque. I didn't want to renegociate the budgets (especially as I don't need many expensive things), but perhaps we didn't give enough to this WG, if a valid purchase puts it into the red by a huge amount. I was one of the people who came up with these back of an envelope figures, so maybe I (and everyone else) should live with it. Who knows.
How much was the bulb, is that the only purchase?
The way the budgets were worked out was thinking through everything that needed to be bought in a typical year. I don't recall projector bulbs featuring in the discussion so this might be considered an oversight.
Then again, we shouldn't need to buy a new bulb very often so perhaps this isn't a problem - over the year as a whole it may work out.
