is there any update on the girl who wanted to work on the tables? there are a couple of smaller round tables loitering in cafe i noticed yesterday that may be appropriate for what she wants to do.

Just to let you all know that we had a couple of late 'august' proposals which I have replied to and told then they were too late but we will keep them on file for future consideration. I've moved then into the 'for consideration' folder for now.

Have emailed Mike, Cecily and Rocca, will update when I know more.

Emailed. Also got in touch with the video art folks. I was thinking about that- could we expand the video art day?- i might know some folks who would also like to show some video work perhaps we could make something more of it?

Minutes should be up later today- afraid i was too busy yesterday.

I spoke to Mike regarding his images - he is fine with that but could we please not use either the one with the Tesco logo in it or the ones that is derived form Poussin (Mikea) as he's slightly concerned that they might sue his ass (this won't be an issue for the show as these are older works of his)

Yes, I really like the idea of expanding the video day - do you mean timewise or just showing more work that day? I think the latter could be interesting as it could move from being a day with a couple of things just looping to being a mini video fest with a programme of screenings - could be a bit to organise but I think it might be fun, and I know some people who might like to show some stuff too.

oops! It should be Jean Pierre not "John" Pierre- Sorry!

And its Mike Hinc not Mike Hink

Blurb-

Jean Pierre Lapeyre-"Self Portrait as The Ladder and the Saw" 3rd-4th August

"Jack the Hard Worker was born on earth but in a different universe to this one." A combination of video, painting and live performance.

Mike Hinc- "My Imaginary Friends" 5th-9th August

a Digital collage and sound installation which enters into a discussion on imaginary friendship.

"Private Hire" 10th-19th August

What They Could Do They Did 20th-24th August

The fabulous London Collective hijack the gallery space for their own nefarious ends.

Bang Carroty and the Cardboard Cod 25th-27th August

"Mr Sands is in the Foyer" Once upon a time, long long ago, two moustache-twirling, udder-pulling, shoulderpad-shaking mavericks, who went by the names of Bang Carroty and The Cardboard Cod, took the stag by the antlers, the cow by the udders and the West End by storm.

Various Artists 29th August

A day of video art in the gallery space.

Loesje text Writing Workshop 30th-31st August

Subversive poster art and workshop.

ok

john and monica have confirmed for the 28th august slot. their work will be dismantled and removed by themselves - hooray. also they are wanting somewhere to stay for 21 - 29, shall i just put a plea out on the bb unless anyone has any ideas? would be good to try and find somewhere for them as they're coming from holland.

sarah foque has also sent some images of her work and they are very striking, would be good if she could use cafe and entrance hall for her work. she is asking for a week after the 10th august, which sounds reasonable. the tape she uses peels up no probs too. the photos are in her e mail if you want to look. maybe we could give her the week 18-24th? we could always leave it down after she has finished. do we need to check about her putting tape in the cafe or is it in our area as front of house to decide?

will do the EAF stuff tomorrow, sorry for delay.

cheers

From what I 've just seen on the TK email (and left marked as unread) it looks like JP can't do the 3rd as he is only getting back into the country from being away on morning of the 4th.

Obviously this is going to leave him about half a day at best to do the thing and clear the decks for Mike on the 5th. In any case I think it would be difficult to bring Mike forward any further then the morning of the 4th as he will be staying with me (and I'm not back in edinburgh till very late on the night of the 3rd).

What if we swap JP with Roman given that they are both 2 day things?

Mike Hinc has booked flights now and will be arriving on the same flight as me late on the 3rd (we both fly into stansted first from different places, seemed easier to meet him like that seeing as he is staying at mine).
He has managed tio get sponsirdhip for his flight and has asked if we can mation this where we can see below:

"I got 50% sponsorship of flight costs so can you please request that a sponsorship credit is given to "Assets Media" on any local, venue advertising / programmes etc - WHERE IT STLL CAN BE."

Also met with Rocca today, she now wants to do something in the cafe instead of the hall, preferably on thurs august 21st as she has told the annuale that she is going to do something somewhere on that date. she thinks that it (installation/performance) could be done without interfereing with the normal(!) running of the cafe, and that it would just mean moving the tables to the side of the room. I said i would raise the issue on the BB and get back to her - any thoughts on that? Would the cafe be booked that far in advance? does this sound do-able or am I whistling in the wind here?

"Hi Stephen,

the 30th-31st would be perfect for me. Can you swing it?

best

Jean-Pierre
"

so that seems to settle that, question is, what to put in his place....

Mike- just post the details on the peoples forum for a week or so to allow for any objections/concerns if there are none then just go for it i say.

I guess we can cut up the sponsorship thing and include it in the logos. arf arf.

I take it you mean 30 -31st August? or do you mean July? If it's august then we've got Roman down for the 30/31st - so straight swap if he agrees? You gonna talk to him or shall I?

Perhaps NOT cut up Mike's sponsorship for the LOGOS, mmmmm? Pretty please? - I'll buy you/the logos a cookery book.....
