I have two suggestions for forums:

1. Philosphy Forum

guess there has been no philosophy cafes at 4rest for a while? we could have meaningful banter thru this cyberland. unanswered questions include: was there empty time before this time? can there be one infinity greater than another? what is the ultimate nature of reality?

2. Remote Foresters

for foresters abroad or out of town to report on their adventures, let people know where and how they are going or to organise "outside" 4rest events.

let's have a porn forum for the exchange of porn and ideas about porn. it will be fun to exchange pictures while debating their depravity. we could start with pictures from the --- also, should the forest build a naked room downstairs, for the exchange of ideas about porn?

What about a forest feedback forum? kudos, suggestions for events or other things we could add or people would like to come out and work on?

I'm very reluctant to add a forum like this. If people start thinking all they need to do is suggest something and (hey presto) it will be done (by someone else), then they will be severely disappointed.

People should be doing things under their own initiative. Millions of bytes can be used in discussing something online, but folk have to realise that it's what you do and who you speak to that really counts.

Also, when it comes to implementing things in the forest, it's much more effective co-operating with people you actually know, rather than random folk you found in an online discussion. You can do anything online, on a theoretical level. The real world is different.

There is the possibility of adding a forum for 'help wanted'. There are definately roles in the forest that could do with being filled by the right people if we can find them. We already do a little bit of advertising for such roles. Adding an online forum for this seems like a sensible development.

I see where you're coming from Neil, but let's not lose sight of the thread here... someone mentioned porn..
