Projector not working properly

Post by swithun » Mon Jul 21, 2008 9:47 pm

The cafe projector is acting up. I had it switched to RGB input, and it would behave like normal. But then, after a few minutes, it would turn itself off, in the middle of playing something.

I don't know if it is OK with VIDEO input. I don't think it is my laptop it doesn't like - this happened with both Linux and Windows.

It worked fine last week. Does anyone know if anything happened to it since then? It needs to work on Wednesday, and I don't have much time to look at it before then.

i'm not aware of anything having happened. does it shut down if it doesn't detect a video signalnormally? possibly it's both 'seeing it' and 'not seeing it' at the same time. what video ins does it have in total again?
hey, if you don't like it, post on the BB (so you can ask about participating for better) | MilkMiruku

That sounds plausible. A bit of a bugger to fix. I don't want to get up on a ladder and take it down again.

That could also be possible. If someone could try it with a DVD/VHS, it would indicate a general problem (if it does the same), or just a problem with RGB (if it works fine through VIDEO), it would be good.

If VIDEO works, then I have a Linux media box which I can hopefully use for the Golden Hour projections.

Apparently the spare is being used for the show in the gallery.

I think the cables at the other end are also dodgy.

2 mondays ago it eventually worked but it took a long time to find a working angle for the cables...

Projector was sorted out last night. I saw Ryan on a ladder.

Any ideas about a projector on Saturday, Stephen? Dai has been cooking up films, but the cafe might be the only place we have to show them without a projector...

Also, I turned the projector off last night. Where is the remote to turn the dvd player back on today?

Thanks, guys. Was it fluff in the filter causing it to overheat?

I'm going to use my Linux powered media box thing to play Nite Fite tonight.
