Key not available for the cave – again!

This has happened to me several times, last night being the latest occurrence. You turn up for a practise session and nobody knows where the key is. Is there just one key for the cave, is there any other way of ensuring access should the one key go missing?

It is very frustrating to turn up, having booked a time slot, to find no access is available. A reliable practise space is one of the key things that and band/musician looks for and if they can’t find this at the cave they will just go elsewhere which is obviously not what the forest wants.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Calum

electronic key fob?

or bigger stuff on the end of the key?

we used to have a combo but that didn't work.

callum - since you have access to all our stuff anyway - you might as well get a key to the cave. in my opinion.

the main problem is that folk don't put stuff back where they got it from.

Yes the key is definitely missing. I looked through the Caves today to check if someone had locked it in there. No joy. It's also not in the kitchen, unless it's somewhere really silly.

Sign out sheets always need to be stocked up in the drawer in the kitchen. Nobody has signed out the key to the Caves since 27th, according to some scribble on the back of one of the sheets. I'm wondering if someone has taken it away with them, or locked it somewhere silly?

Maybe we should get some new keys cut for the place and leave a set available for kitchen managers too, just so we don't have to ring round everyone from the caves when they're missing and someone's booked the space and is waiting in the cafe?

get every key to the building cut and leave them in a lockable tin! Yes the dream... And if you are doing it EUS will pay for a set of the same too...
Nice!
