Front of House Team

Post by stephengoodall » Sat Sep 06, 2008 7:16 pm

So the recent FOH group seems to have been very successful with some great work being acheived about the place. However, the group seems to have been disbanded in the midst of August time.

Perhaps we could arrange a new meeting to discuss, with those who are enthusiastic, what can be done around the place to make The Forest more excellent.

The remit of the meeting would include all things relating to the appearance of the building- posters, paint, colours, flowers, candles lampshades, murals etc.

There are some suggestions in the "job left unfinished" thread below this one and seems to be people keen to get murals painted about the place.

Who's keen?

I propose meeting on Sunday the 14th September to gauge interest and discuss ideas but that's just an arbitrary date so feel free to suggest another...

personaly we need to map out what needs done , and what is not to be done . somethings in the building need to maintained . i kinda fear one day the tiles and some of the features of the building will be lost. not that am into the past too much . but i would rather give it some thought than lose something that could be valuable. the floor in the shop is an interesting design for example .

0n anther note , which tables can be redone .some of them are not there best at the moment .and we have people who want to do something . let them do something . i may give it a ago myself .

some of the EVS who don't read the BB will be interested. Talk to them all personally, or come to a meeting at 4pm mondays if you can. Or I can mention things for you next week.

so a few points .

stairs to the hall

i dont think the stairs should be painted . reason is that once we start we always have to keep doing it . and as bill said somewhere the paint is atrocious for environment .

any wooden fixtures should be kept as they are , eg the inner door frame . this is really nice feature of the entrance .

tiles should not be painted on .

windows should not be painted on .

all the areas that are currently white . can be used for murals . other stuff on these wall are subject to fire safety regulations.

the white bits around the shop are important as this could be someones first impression of the forest .

i guess my area of interest is this area .
