8pm Meeting last Monday of month
The Film Working Group meets every last Monday of the month at 8pm, before the film starts.
Come along and help us put together the programme or suggest new directions for us to move in.

Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
is this still the case? is anyone a bottom liner for this group currently? how have the most recent films been chosen?
hey, if you don't like it, post on the BB (so you can ask about participating for better) | MilkMiruku
Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
Yeah, I have ideas again, would like to get involved.
Before the film seems like a good time for the meeting.
Shouldn't we just call 'bottom liners' pants ?

Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
yes it would b great to have this meetings again. at the moment we are choosing by people talking/mailing to charlotte and me or picking some of the movie thread on the bb. but i would really like to discuss about this with a few people rather than just one person choosing.
Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
cool.
i would like to propose that the group deals with both the monday night screening plus a resurrected tuesdays documentary night (things like the doc beerpunk mentioned, plus I would like to get around to screening the TED [and other] talks i mentioned ages ago). thoughts?
last monday was a bit adhoc in that Superman 3 was advertised, but it ended up being Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow as the Superman 3 DVD could not be found. imo, Superman 3 is way less interesting than the recut of Superman 2.
Ida has asked me to forward film[at]theforest.org.uk to both her and Charlotte which I have done, so i guess we have our pants for now.
right, so for upcoming films; can we have an updated list of films people would like to see screened? please include a link to either it's wikipedia or IMDB entry (preferably it's wikipedia entry as pretty much all of them link to IMDB anyway).
* SICK: The Life & Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist - documentary, beerpunk
* Persepolis - animated film, beerpunk
* States of Terror(?): Red Army Faction - bbc documentary mentioned by beerpunk IRL on monday. might be hard to find a copy of this having turned up nowt on a brief net trawl.

Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
tues doc's sounds cool - just note that the original plan was that it was in the 7 to 9 slot so there still time to have a band play after
it was felt, and i agree, that 2 nights of film where no-one could talk in the cafe was to much
Tariq is still in town, if anyone has contact details they could see if he wants to be involved.

Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
live music is better than film --- every fortnight could be good or - at least - one night a month ...

Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
There was a meeting yesterday ?
Sorry if I missed it. Of course should have gone to film anyway.
Ideas,
The Safety of Objects http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0256359/, primarily because I'm fan of Timothy Olyphant, and
The Pleasure of Being Robbed http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1189259/
Documentaries,
The Flying Scotsman http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0472268/
and
For All Mankind http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0097372/, which is more famous for its Brian Eno soundtrack, and I have it on DVD.

Should this still be a sticky?
Re: 8pm Meeting last Monday of month
I guess not. This topic is going down.
