hello,
im involved in organising this night on thurs- trying to get a picture of what soundgear there is at the forest, and what we need to beg borrow steal from elsewhere...
i understand there is a PA and desk (upstairs in the hall this is) - is there a snake? we got a band with a lot of acoustic instruments, will need a lot of miking
we can get hold of some mics ok - can anyone let me know how many we can expect to find there?
part of this is miking up the organ- thinking a couple of mics overhead will do, but its going to involve some long cables- are there many cables about? the organ is also going to need a massive MIDI cable- going to make some adaptors so we can use XLRs, but again, going to need long ones..
cheers!
tom

I thought the equipment list mentioned stuff like DIs.
As for the Organ, I doubt you'll need to mic it, it's pretty loud.

It's not actually that loud. It might sound loud when the building's quiet, but on Thursday with no other music playing it was barely audible from the hall bar, over the conversations going on. It needs to be miked up for the performance.
