the cover over said space was removed during the summer refurb (due to it being a fire hazard?). the weather since then has been typically scottish and thus the ground has become covered in mud and become rather disgusting.
my plan is to collect broken umbrellas, strip them of the fabric (probably a fire hazard anyway), position and secure them over the space and encourage the existing (and plant new) creeper plants to mesh with the framework.
i've started a collecion of brollies in a box on the left hand window sill in the action room.
