Panda Su, the Last Battle and Hailey Beavis!

Post by Jane » Fri Oct 16, 2009 4:25 pm

Tonight at The Bowery!

Panda Su comes to the Bowery bearing xylophones, accordions, tambourines, black eye paint and other noise makers to launch her debut Sticks and Bricks EP!

Panda Su hails from the sunny shores of St Andrews, Fife. On stage Su is joined by South African born JaxAdam - a percussionist who specialises in the playing of toy accordions, children's glockenspiels and an array of other hand-held instruments. Together they play "gentle, melodic, colourful songs which curl up in your head" - an acclaim which has earned them gigs alongside Frightened Rabbit, Withered Hand and a slot at the Fence Collective's Homegame festival in Anstruther and at Hinterland in Glasgow. Last year they embarked on a 22-date tour of the USA and Canada. Panda Su's track 'Moviegoer' was Track of The Month in the Scotsman newspaper for the month of April. - Tentracks

With support from The Last Battle:

The Last Battle write, record and play songs about whisky, love and the elements. This is sometimes done in dark rooms at night and sometimes outside in the cold light of day. Generally best enjoyed on cold windy nights with a hot water bottle and some gin.

and Hailey Beavis

"Beavis' subtle guitar acts as bed for a voice which treads liberally through the realms of folk, blues, jazz and soul - there is no ego to Beavis' self penned offerings, whose universal subject matter are both personal and touching." Garden Sessions

Should be a very fun gig. Also, Alex and I will be working so come by and drink and be merry. Mmnnn merry!

"We all tend to idealise kindness and tolerance, then wonder why we find ourselves infested with losers and nutcases." Sebastian Horsley
