Re: baby changer
I have quite a few friends imminently about to drop sprogs.
This might be really useful if they don't get the right gender or hair colour.
Definitely a good idea.

Re: baby changer
Damn. I wasn't the only one to see the other meaning of baby changer.
We can have some second hand nappies in the free shop for when the sausage babies soil themselves.

Re: baby changer
Just spoke to Ken Smilie, and he has suggested we get a fold down IKEA breakfasty-type-table-thingy......good idea, no?!
This would ensure there's no splinters in baby bots!

Re: baby changer
Have just spotted a baby changing unit on Ebay for £25 + postage (it costs £89.00 in the shops).
Can I buy it?!
I have our Ebay details somewhere...........

Oh, I'm not shit - it works - woo hoo
Re: baby changer
a valiant diy effort has been made by ken at a fold-down baby changer in the volly toilets, but apparently it has already scared a parent into putting the matt on the floor to change their tot.
i think it's time Forest put some proper consideration into buying a pro unit. yes, they are pricey, but it's an investment for built-to-be-sound equipment, and i'd like to think we should care about being family friendly to parents with children of the age that require one.
just had a google and the cheapest available seem to be
http://www.janitorialdirect.co.uk/product/?pid=248 @ £138
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BABY-CHANGING-TAB ... a3ffce7fb9 @ £138
thoughts?

Re: baby changer
what ryan said.
but really? we trust our people to cook our dinner and install our fire alarms and sort our fire exits and wire our electrics and plumb our toilets but we're worried about this? I've seen the sturdiness of the table, and is a baby really going to fall through it?

Re: baby changer
My mistake.
After comments from a couple of young mothers and other people, I decided that the table was not right.
I took it down, as I knew that I wasn't going to do anything about it till next week, and thought it a wee bit of a liability.
I will fit something good as the baby changer, this coming week.
Not because we are 'supposed' to have one, but out of common courtesy to the costumers we have who need to change their babies.
I think a good strong, pro plastic one would be easy and long lasting, and 'easy to clean' which is an important concideration.
If we feel we cannot buy one soon, or find a secondhand/recycled one .. soon.. I will set about building a nice solid DIY one.
thanks..... and ..... waaaaaaaaaaa!
