Proposal for the front room

Post by cornelia » Thu Sep 09, 2010 6:12 pm

Joey, I and a few others have an idea for the front room

To make the room feel more like corridor and more cozy and snug. We would like to place a
bookshelf about chest height in the room to create a smaller cozy place for people to sit.
And the height of the shelf would still make it possible to keep view of the whole room.
And convenient enough we could also store more books for our library there.
It would still be wheelchair accessible and spacious.

We tried it out the other day with stevie and a few other people and it seems like it could work. But of course this is a this to discuss
so please let me know what you think

cheers

Like the diagram!

Sounds like a decent idea. I think it would help to reduce draft from the doorway in winter. This would, of course, be nice.

do it!
Maybe it could work? But it will be a kaleidoscopic blend of mysterious shadows and rainbow hued-dreams seen through compassionate tears.

great, it was pesticides idea to snugafie the room somewhat, not easy to do and requires some planning but is totally possible and would be lovely, i think joey should spearhead this as he has already made the front feel so great in the last couple of days just by moving some furniture around, yeah snug, yeah plants, yeah yeah.

OK!

Pesticide and I did the measure up today and the mm's are:

2600mm wide, 1350mm high and about 250mm deep.

We also propose that we build it from ply and timber, and then find bookshelves to fit inside or make shelves. The idea being that waiting for the right second hand bookshelves to fit the space would be costly and time-consuming.. (I think we have all the materials, I will confirm tomorrow)

Anyone want to help build it?

That's great!

I won't be able to make it this Saturday, however, as I'll be out of town.

But, I wouldn't like to stop the flow so go ahead! I can help with painting and prettyfying after the weekend.

Does the theme of black gloss, red, gold and aged wood still bring everyone's agreement?

Stay free.
