I want to help.

Post by Joy » Sun Oct 31, 2010 10:24 pm

To the hes and shes of the forest.
I would like to help.
I am a first year journalist who wants to right an awareness piece on the forests current situation and the up and coming events that are going to help fundraise for the cause. I would like to raise awareness throughout the student sector so that people can see the good the forest does and should continue to do.
I'd like to hear your thoughts, views, opinions, memories, involvement with the forest to include in the article.

I am going into the forest to take some shots this week and would love to get talking to people, a one on one interview over a brew perhaps, to find out a little bit more about the goings on, the reason for its possible sale (who owns the forest building) and added information to help promote what is going on.

My address is joy_parkinson@hotmail.com or contact me on this.
Thanks a lot!

Maybe it could work? But it will be a kaleidoscopic blend of mysterious shadows and rainbow hued-dreams seen through compassionate tears.

The Edinburgh University Settlement, a charity, owned the building. You can find out more about their situation in these articles:

The Herald article contains some inaccuracies. It says in the first paragraph that Forest Cafe is run by EUS. This is not true. Forest Cafe is run by volunteers, by us.

In the fourth paragraph it says that Forest Cafe is up for sale. This is not true either. The building is for sale. Forest Cafe is not.
