Outside Chalkboards

Post by HGiles » Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:12 pm

Alba and I did some thinking about FoH today, and we're really keen to get the outside chalkboards up and running again. Having good events noices out there really helps bring people in and keep us looking alive, which is especially important as we drive on with fundraising.

Problem 1: rain. Problem 2: people leaning on the boards, erasing the listings and getting covered in chalk in the process. Problem 3:

Anyone got any know-how of rain- and foolproof methods of running outdoor chalkboards? And any suggestions of how to keep them updated regularly without piling more work on EVSers/KMs?

use pens like this:

if the pens are kept in the events drawer it shouldn't be an arduous thing for the KM to get a volunteer to go write what's happening on when putting the board out in the morning.

beware
these things get lunched out all the time

note that they require something called "EaziKleen", which you also have to buy, to wash them off.
