well well!

so we (Lien, Kata, Brittonie, Harry and me) had a meeting about the arts week today and so far these are our plans for the voluntary arts week which will take place from the 6th until the 14th of May! We will need volunteers (both lien and me won't be in the edinburgh most of that time! oh no!!) and help and motivation for all these things so let us know if you're up for helping out :) thanks!

we will do two tours through the forest - one on the 8th of May and one on the 12th - these should give people the chance to get to know more than just the obvious things about us - the history of the forest, the idea behind it, how to get involved AND what artists facilities we offer (like an open day) --- so when we actually do these tours there should be people working and being able to show some things in the screenprinting room, darkroom and everywhere else you can think about!
so we need:
people who do the tour itself
people who do workshops etc on the same days

we will put up a stall on the celebration event on the 7th of may!
we want to offer a lot of different activities there, possible things are:
-screenprinting
-letter writing
-felting?
- anyone has a badge-machine? it would be great if people could do their own badges, we can just bring some old magazines and paper and colored pencils etc and it's such a fun thing to do!

if they allow us to do it we will also sell things from the shop - do some new patches etc, plus we want to prepare some nice and easy food for people to take (for free)
here we will need:
-as many people as possible to
-help put up the stall
-stay there for the day
-do things from the list above or have ideas for other things we could do
-...?

apart from that -
harry will look for bands to play on the celebration event
we will send them our events programme for that week and they will advertise it on their website
either at the stall or at some point during that week it would be fun to build some kites in a workshop and then go to the meadows to let them fly and be happy

wohooo!

Did they say yes? Can you put them in touch with me, and I'll fix up the slot with the VAW folk?

She asked where it was, and i sent her a link to the info thread we have here, and some pasted paragraph from their letter.
I have not yet heard back... she's on FB i don't have her email... but will get it from her when/if i hear back.

can we have an 'ACTION day' to get some images together for the screen printed patches?

Cool. Let us know!

I've sent them our current listings for the week. I couldn't find info about your Darkroom workshops, though. Would you be able to send me --

Event Name
Start and End date
Start and End Time ie. Opening time
Brief intro to the event/exhibition/performance

--? Cheers!

Sure, that week there is a film developing demo on Sat from 12noon to 4 pm

during the "open studios" i thought it would be cool to have photogram workshops so people could come in and possibly make some.

Sunday from 1-6pm is the alternative camera class- these can have people come into in the afternoon thought it is a little chaotic, and the workshop is intensely cluttered...

we'll need to have some Major Actions before this kicks off, make sure the building is in a more presentable chaos.
:D

I'll get prices for you by the end of the day prolly give em to you at the meeting tonight
