You will be part of a small team responsible for the day to day running of the cafe, including the volunteer rota, stock control and menu development.

JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Forest is a volunteer-run, collectively-owned, free arts and events space masquerading as a vegetarian café. We provide a dedicated space for people to get involved in any creative activity imaginable. Our events have included music, theatre, dancing, yoga, massage, poetry recitals, art displays, knit-ins, book tours, language teaching, monsterbike making…and plenty more. We are looking for a new Kitchen Manager to be part of a small team responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen and cafe. You will be working with two other Kitchen Managers on a part time basis. Hours per week 18-27 @ £7 per hour.
Duties will include:Day to day management of cafe
Volunteer co-ordination and training
Stock control and money handling
Cooking delicious food and menu development
Liaising with the public/ artists/ suppliers
Relevant Experience (not essential):Experience working in a community arts cafe
Experience of working with volunteers
Experience of large scale catering
Bonus Points:
Knowledge of sound equipment
Food Hygiene/ First Aid Certificate
Putting on events and workshops
Getting people to draw crazy murals
Knitting socks
Making chutney...............you get the idea!!
