Submit
is a magazine of prose and poetry.
It DOES NOT feature childish drawings, pretty pictures, or images of any kind. It is just plain text. It also does not feature dreary self-indulgent verse by people who believe that they are special, blessed or have spirit guides. Only rarely do words like ‘beautiful’, ‘shimmering’ or ‘incandescent’ appear in any of its pieces. The use of dialect is mostly frowned on. As are references to Fight Club, 9/11, the Holocaust, Dan Brown, Harry Potter, George Bush or any of the many, weary gibbons that populate the ranks of lesser fiction.
It DOES, however, feature good quality work from serious writers, some of whom are local. Which, we think, is quite enough.
