Right, the change is done. When you go to www.theforest.org.uk it redirects you to forestcafe.tumblr.com. It's been done this way (301 Permanent Redirect) instead of the DNS change, because the DNS change would fuck up the BB, the Cave Booking System and anything else stored on http://theforest.org....

Borrowing a PA on Friday
Hi, I have a gig on Friday and the guy who was lending me a PA now can't, for various reasons. I notice on aecalendar that there doesn't appear to be anything in the hall after the self-defense class. Is it possible at all that I can borrow the hall PA? I agree with chris.
Another forum I'm on allows you to edit your posts for up to 30 minutes after you post them and then they become static. Maybe we could implement something like that here?

Well if we are then the tumblr site needs to be fixed up. Firstly, it's long a scrolly on the main page, which funnily, although correct me if I'm wrong, was a complaint about the current site. Secondly, huge swathes of text have been copypasted from the current site, meaning that none of the links ...

Good post Neil.
Milk has already started making the site simpler. Have a look at the front page now.
Designers! Start thinking about a design for the front page. As soon as we can, we'll tell you what menu items you need to incorporate and then we can get a selection of front pages to display!

You wouldn't get someone to paint a mural and then a week later paint over it because you'd decided you didn't like it.
Why do the same with a website?
Various people, especially Milk, have put loads of effort into the current site and it seems a bit pants to shit all over the hard work.

I think you have the wrong idea about gigs at the Forest. Making money from a jukebox would not result in us "booking" acts like Shooglenifty. The Forest does not pay bands to perform. It is a free and open performance area that anyone can book for whatever event they want to put on. Personally, I t...

After reading all that, I think it can be added with a simple query.
All we have to do is check whether there are any posts with a post time greater than the user's last visited time and remove the "view unread posts" link if there aren't.
I'll have a bash at it sometime this week.

Not so easy, I think, since the unread posts is just a filter on the search query and so is only run when you click the link.
